I think we should have an item or an action that would cancel a dog's pregnancy. I have acquired dogs that were pregnant that did not have decent pups and then stuck with them.
I wouldn't make the item or action too terribly expensive, so that all members have easy access. And it wouldn't work with bitch leases (maybe when you buy a dog that has a leasing pregnancy, you could reverse it?)

Retire pups & get dogs back from pound for $500 each would still be cheaper :(

I think it would be cheaper to just retire the pups.
